Thanks for the link, Doreen. I'd been wondering if there was something about this way of eating that was helping my immune system.

Ever since I was school age, I've averaged about two major head and/or chest colds a year and frequent bouts of head congestion and sinus headaches. However, since starting on Atkins in July 2002, I haven't had a single cold or any significant sinus problems. I did recently suffer from the intestional virus that's going around the country, but I got it several days after it had sidelined the rest of my family and I only had it for two days. I was taking vitamins and supplements and exercising for years before I switched to low carb, so I think if my immune system is heartier now, it's the low carb eating that's caused it.
