This thread is old but putting my comments in case it helps.

I'm 47, female and have been overweight my entire adult life. For me, to lose weight I have to stay under 30 g of carbs...(once I've entered ketosis)....and....keep my calories under 1000 a day. That's to lose at a rate of 2.5 a week. I also do a couple of fasts during the week where I skip one meal and get about 600 calories on those days. I haven't ventured into 24 hour fasts and willwork my way up to it.

Many men can eat 2000 calories and still lose weight but I'm not in that category. We area all different.
