No tiller here. Soils are too rocky.

For the garlic which are set so deep, I will get one of the boys bring up a wheelbarrow full of rotted material and then dig deep and turnover to bring up the soil. I can see where the layers are separated: the compost dumped on top YEARS ago were never mixed into the soil. Will take a bit of work, more than I can do.

Otherwise we only use shovels. Moving more and more toward spaghetti style gardening.
