I think it is better for you too, includes trace amounts of minerals that are processed out of standard table salt. But to make eating better complicated the Himalayan and other fancy salts have only a tiny fraction of the iodine you would get with the fortified blue canister. This article by Dr Davis back in 2012 http://www.wheatbellyblog.com/2012/07/an-iodine-primer/ made me realize that I had no source of iodine for the previous five years. Started taking kelp tablets and still do.
