I don't think so. String beans are a different plant, and it doesn't make sense that Dr. Atkins would have gone to the trouble to list one particular type of green beans instead of just putting "green beans" on the list if most of them were okay. Besides which, according to the glycemic index in his book, green beans have nearly as high a one as bananas.
