I'm also very sorry about your sister and hope that she recovers quickly.

Good for you for seeing this as a wake up call..many would not see it that way.

I agree with Julie....read all 3 again and try to figure out which you would be able to live with in the long run. In the mean time, you can begin by stopping eating all sugar, white flour, white food IE: white rice, white potatoes, bread.......Go food shopping and get lots of green leafy veggies and others that you enjoy. eggs, good proteins...look through the kitchen to find recipes that you will enjoy.

The way I made this a lifestyle change is by finding many different foods that I really enjoy eating, that fit the parameters of the plan that I'm on. I've found that the SBD is a bit too liberal in the way it allows us to add good carbs back into our plans...so I'm very stingy on any flour items at all....they've become a treat for me to eat. I've become a master at eating meals without starch at all, sometimes a starchy veggie.

Anway...this is possible for you to do!! You get to chose how you do it.
