Pizza Hut?

Husband ordered take out ... But got me a 12piece chicken wing (plain no sauce) w ranch...calories will be up there but it sounds delicious! :) does anyone else do this?

I am a HUGE fan of their garlic Parmesan wings it is something like a carb a wing but OMG it is worth it to not eat a ton of veggies every once in awhile. I only get the garlic Parmesan wings when I really really want wings so maybe once every six months or year. So good. I think I have it somewhere in my journal that 10 garlic parmesan wings + a side salad with bleu cheese is 8-10 carbs. Mmmm. Now I am hungry for wings :)

I'd consider that a pretty reasonable meal...as long as I had a bottle of hot sauce at hand.

Yep! That is my go-to when the boyfriend wants pizza! I also love the garlic parm wings! :yum:

Same here. When the family gets pizza I get to have wings. I like the plain, but the garlic parm are almost as good.

Wings are ok of not with tons of BBQ sause.
Plain ok with butter or some hot sause.
They do add calorie rather fast depeneding on the phase you are in.

I used to eat hot wings with ranch all the time. I follow DANDR so I don't count calories. I'm just restarting this after a long time, so I haven't eaten this yet this go round.

Edit: words

Just out of curiousity, I looked up pizza hut wings. Here's ingredients: http://www.pizzahut.com/files/pdf/ph_ingredients.pdf

Almost everything has wheat in it. :(

Redfallon Sun, Mar-02-14 00:11

Are the wings there breaded? If so, I wouldn't eat them. I just ate hot wings that weren't breaded, only covered in hot sauce.

Lots of places roll their wings (and other meats) in flour and seasoning before cooking them, so although they are not coated in batter or breadcrumbs they do have "some" wheat on them, hence the carb count they give for them.

Traditional Wings:
Chicken wing sections containing: up to 15% of a solution of water, seasoning [salt, maltodextrin, natural flavor (canola oil, soybean oil, chicken fat and flavors), chicken flavor ({polysorbate 60, xanthan gum, disodium inosinate & disodium guanylate}, maltodextrin, yeast extract, lactose, salt, rendered chicken fat, flavor, extractives of turmeric, soy lecithin), dehydrated garlic, and dehydrated onion], modified corn starch, sodium phosphates.
CONTAINS: MILK, SOY

So as long as you are getting traditional wings you are good on the wheat front. Now there is also a Garlic Herb Spread which they may or may not use for the garlic parmesan and that is also wheat free :) Still not the BEST ingrediants but for eating out not horribly bad.

Wow, just looking at the ingredients for the Pizza Hut foods killed my appetite! I have been cooking my own food from basic ingredients but this was a good reminder of what control you lose when you eat out, especially but not only at fast food places.

Funny I stumbled across this post as we just finished eating at Pizza Hut. I love pizza, hate wings. We ordered a pizza with a garlic butter sauce instead of marinara. Then loaded it up with vegies and sausage. Needless to say, I left the crust. I still felt like part of the family, and ate carb friendly. (Don't get me wrong, I realize it wasn't the most fantastic meal, but it worked for me.)

I don't like Pizza Hut, but when traveling my DH and I will often hit roadside pizza places. We love splitting wings and a salad for dinner.

But, as noted above, it sounds like Pizza Hut wings might be rolled in flour. Are there other Italian deliveries in your area?

Classic buffalo wing sauce is butter & hot sauce, and the wings are broiled with no breading.

I think Pizza Hut has bone-in (which is usually ok) and boneless (which are half bread!) So you can use those terms when dining out and the server should recognize them.
