Australian carb labelling

Hello, can someone please comfirm this for me?

Quote:
In Australia the 'total carb' count already excludes the fibre.

I'm going to be in the Gold Coast in Jan/06 to visit my brother and family and I want to be sure I'm reading the labels correctly.
Also any hints about where to find carb friendly items in the Southport area would be great.

Anyone a Curves member?? I plan on visiting one there.

Thank You
Cheers Kathy

Yes, Kathy, the carb counts here do exclude fibre. Same in New Zealand and the UK. :)

You can find some Atkins products in the big supermarkets here - Coles and Woolworths definitely, but possibly smaller ones also.
All supermarkets here carry Splenda tablets. I suggest you stock up. ;) Each Splenda tablet is equivalent in sweetness to 1 teaspoon of sugar, and has 0.075carbs. They crush easily (2 spoons work well) for baking.
There is a GNC Livewell store at Helensvale - not far from Southport.

Here is a list of Gold Coast gyms. I don't know if "Muscle & Curves Fitness Centre" is the same as "Curves?"

Anyone have more ideas?

Roz

Thanks for the link :)

No worries on the slpenda tablets, I don't use any sweetener in my tea or coffee.
I'm getting pretty darn excited :)

Kathy
