Anyone read this week's Newsweek Cover story?

Its called "Good Carbs Bad Carbs" and it really touts the SB way but I didnt see SB mentioned at all and thought that was odd. It talked about Atkins and how the new thinking praises Atkins for his work but encourages lower fat consumption, good fats vs. bad fats, and not giving up as many carbs, just eating the right carbs (whole grains, veggies etc) and looking at glycemic indecises of foods, all SB stuff.

I saw an article today in Discovery (I think the current issue) about what "science" says we should eat. I didn't have time to read the whole thing (young baby at my house) but it sounded alot like SBD phase 2, didn't seem to recommend South Beach per se. I will read it when I get a chance and see if it says anything about it either way.

It does say the Mediterranean Diet is closest to what they recommend, which is not low-carb but the main doctor associated with it said it's "good fat good carb." Hmmm. sounds familiar.
