Donating your old food

When you first started Paleo or Primal did you find yourself putting some serious thought into what you felt alright with donating?

At first I just tossed everything that was open and put all the unopened stuff in a box to donate, but then I started giving it more thought and wondered "if I'm not eating this stuff anymore should I really be inflicting it on the people who'll get this food?"
In the end I decided to toss anything that had trans-fats because literally no one should be eating those. I was REALLY torn about the pasta and flour, but decided to donate it in the end because most people would choose to eat wheat products no matter their need status. The brown sugar I ended up keeping to make leg wax.
