Returning

Hello-I am returning after a long absence. My health has been pretty bad these last few years. I have candida, skin fungus, leaky gut yada yada. I am 63 and now weigh 270. At one time I weighed 360, but lost 90 pounds low carb ing a couple years ago. My ideal weight would be about 140 so I have a long way to go.

Thanx, Emy

Welcome back, Emy

You know this is a good forum with many topics and sub-forums to help you. You might even check the Newbie Advice sticky to refresh yourself on tips for success. The first is to "Know your Plan". Maybe re-read one of the books you have and follow the induction program to help you get back into the swing of things on Atkins or one of the others, rather than just genral low carb. Dr Eades has good advice for the second time around too. https://proteinpower.com/drmike/201...w-carb-dieters/

The recent popularity of the "Ketogenic Diet" https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto has witnessed an explosion of low carb websites and recipes page. Maybe you will be inspired by some newer plans. The General Low Carb forum has some of those listed. http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=1 Maybe re-start a journal or join a buddy group.

I hope that returning to low carb will help improve your health. All the best,

Al; the best for your return Emy. May you find the path that feeds you what you really need.

Try coconut oil for that skin fungus. We used CO to cure athletes feet when OTC antifugal didnot. ALso cured belly button infection.

Just apply light coat everyday and after bathing.

In most grocery stores now.

LC has a reputations of knocking down candida, so hope that gets under control quickly for you!

Thanks guys :) today I got weighed and am 265 yay lol
Checked my old posts and noted that 2 years ago I had listed my high as 370 and current weight 290 so at least I didn't gain it all back.

Except that our health issues are not the same, I had a brief moment of ooo..parallel worlds. I was 368 at my highest, am one year younger, and am about 270 at the moment, having regained over a 100 from my low of 150.

Best wishes to you, and congrats on the loss to 265.

Welcome back, Emy! We're about the same age & weight. And my medical problems are a bit different but here in abundance. I believe that with this WOE, we'll BOTH be a lot healthier six months from now.

I would say good luck to both of us but it isn't about luck, is it? It's THINKING (about the facts of refined sugar & wheat and how we will respond to them) that makes the difference. So, good thoughts!! I'll enjoy watching you hit your goals. Here's to your NEXT ninety down!
