Hardest meal of the Day

I thought I would say howdy because I'm a newbeiner.
I'm finding that breakfast is the hardest meal for me because if I don't wake up early enough I have to buy it. It's hard to find low carb meals in our downtown area.

I'm doing a modified version of her healing plan because I already know that gluten doesn't cause me problems. However, too much dairy does cause me problems.

Any suggestions (other than hard boiled eggs)?

Welcome to the forum!
I really am not a morning person either, and usually pass on breakfast foods.
IF I find myself hungry in the morning, I usually eat whatever is leftover from the night before, or throw a steak on the grill.

Where In Colorado are you?
I lived in Denver for a while and I know there were a few places that I could have eaten really good and LC without an issue.
Do you work somewhere that you can pack your lunch? If so, why not pack breakfast too?

Hi Samantha22!
I work in Denver right now, but we are moving to DTC in a week. Do you happen to know of anything good in DTC??

I would pack meals except that I've been too lazy lately. Whenever winter comes around I want to sleep a lot more and do less at night.

Gosh, it's been forever since I've lived there....Let me think about some specifics!

I usually make a batch of meat (pork chops, steak or burgers) on Sunday afternoon, and mix up a big batch of both egg salad and tuna salad...that way it's there when I open the fridge all week. I also invested in a set of good containers, I think they are rubbermaid.....that way I can portion things out.

I'm not entirely sure of your plan...as I follow atkins...but let me make some general suggestions...

-IF you can do yogurt, Fage and Chobani Greek style yogurts have single size servings of yogurt. You can eat it plain, add a sweetener, or add whatever really.

-Hardees/Carl Jr.'s has a good LC Breakfast bowl that's only about 3 bucks.

-McD's will give you a platter with just sausage and eggs.

-Most mexican restaurants have GOOD breakfast with eggs/sausage/salasa, and you can order fajitas and toss the fajita itself and eat the meat and veggies. Crocs is my alltime favorite mexican restaurant, if it's still open, it sits at the far end of the 16th street mall.

-Sweet Tomatoes is a great chain out there, that has a HUGE salad bar that you can take to go.

There are also some great grocery stores out there, if you drive past whole foods, they used to have a really good salad/food bar.

Goodluck.
Hope this helps :)
