Back to Atkins

Hello everyone. My first post. I'm Juanita, I'm 75, and have had time to try about every diet plan out there.

I started with the original Atkins way back. (felt like such a rebel. lol) All the way through others to my last one. Whole foods, starch based. Yep...no oil, no eggs, no dairy, no meat..6 months of this healthy eating and my trigs went to over 400!!

I'm back with my low carb woe and will be trying Atkins 40.

Thanks for letting me join you.

Welcome, and all the best to you. I think you have made a wise choice, I too have tried them ALL, some really crazy ones too. Stop by my journal and meet me. ttyl

Welcome, Juanita! Similar history here. I'm a "starch-based" diet survivor, too, doing well on Atkins for three months now, feeling like I can do this for life. Best to you!

Hi Juanita. I'm 72. What's old is new again, in many ways, including Atkins and us. Start a journal, and check out some of ours!

Thanks. Once I get the hang of this place, I'll start a journal. :) Looking forward to finding yours too.

Welcome. There are a bunch of us "oldies but goodies" here. At the bottom right of each post, you will see a button which links to personal journals. You can catch up on diet histories, personal experiments (n=1) with WaysOfEating. Sometimes we digress and talk about personal stuff, too. We do all we can to keep ourselves and others gently on plan (OP).

You'd be surprised at how many of us went on Atkins in 1972.

Thanks, bluesinger (love your name), for pointing out the journal link. I swear....it would have taken me forever to see the obvious. :)

Getting read for my walk, then back to read your journals and get inspired.
