Lierre Kieth's book, The Vegetarian Myth, should have settled things, but of course, there's a lot of people who want us to be vegan.

It's a great story of how her good intentions left her with serious health issues. Of pertinence is her explaining how when she started, back in the 80s, there wasn't any "vegan junk food" and soy milk in cartons and vegan bakeries. "I wouldn't have lasted this long."

Her epiphany was when she started a garden. And realized the Circle of Life. While vegan health issues appeared a few months in. Great discussion of the impact of her strict vegan lifestyle.

And the mindset she had at the time, which keeps people in when their brain is screaming for them to get out.

"In the vegan world, loss of menstruation is a good sign." It means you were releasing toxins. And now you are done.

This is what happens when people avoid even trying to understand science. Without widespread lies, all these problems would not be problems.
