Type 2 diabetes

Is Dr. Heller's CAD/CALP diet good for type 2 diabetes.

hi-
any plan that is LC is good for Type2- it all depends on your choices.
If I were doing CALP or CAHHP and I had diabetes I would limit my carbs at RM to complex carbs , I'd avoid sugar, and I would BALANCE my RM the way it is meant to be balanced. If you see these plans as permission to binge or eat all kinds of crap you will not help yourself, IMHO.

Does this help?

WELCOME to this site- there is a wealth of info here. There is a special section for people with Diabetes- in the LOW CARB HEALTH area. It's titled
Dr Bernstein and Diabetes.

Dr. Bernstein's books are all about how to manage Diabetes through LC.

I hope you spend some time here and look around.

Do you have the Heller books?

RM is for Reward Meal, something that is explained in CAD and refined a bit in CALP.

IMHO is "in my humble opinion". I'm afraid that you will see lots of abbreviations here, just makes typing faster

Best wishes to you.

Fwiw (for what it's worth), I've kept myself as pre-diabetic and not tipped into Type 2 diabetes because of following calp imho ;)

TY for the abbreviation explanation.
