Low-carb causes low thyroid?

I just had routine labs done at my doctor's office, and the results came back that my thyroid is "borderline." At this point dr just wants to watch it and see what happens.

Having started low carbing in August, I decided to do a google search. I found a few articles claiming that low carb diets can cause thyroid issues, and that I might not be eating enough seeds or starchy vegetables. I've also found articles that low-carb diets are used to treat low thyroid.

I've never had thyroid issues before, though my mother did. And it's possible this is nothing to be concerned about and my thyroid will work itself out. But at this point I'm just really confused about the relationship between low-carbing and thyroid and wondering if I need to change my diet up.

Any advice?

I bought some Kelp tabs a few weeks ago and take one every once in a while. It's high in Iodine so it can't hurt.

I have seaweed snacks I munch on pretty regularly. I'd think that would help with getting some iodine.

I usually do a breakfast of 3 eggs, a small roma tomato, and a handful of spinach with either half an avocado or three strips of turkey bacon. Might switch it up and every other day do some seed based N'Oatmeal. See if that does anything. Seeds are supposed to be good for you anyway, and I haven't really been eating them.

I thought seaweed snacks would have a good amount of iodine but they don't, I found out.
