Glyx Diaet

Can someone who actually is in Germany (I sit in Michigan USA but am German) explain whether Glyx Diaet is really similar to Low Carb? I saw someone reviewing the German South Beach diet book at Amazon.de, and that reviewer suggested Glyx is better. Obviously it also uses glycemic index.

Funny, I thought it was the same. I will be in Germany in May and will be able to find out more....

Glyx and Low Carb

Hi Michigan - Monika,

just steppend by your question while searching for a low-glyx-list in google.com... I hope I can help you. I'm German, located in Berlin, and got a book by Marion Grillparzer calles "be happy with glyx diet".(Glücklich leben mit Glyx)

As far as I got the book (I'm not finished yet) I just can nod to everything. It seems logical that eating turn the body on to burn more fat/calories and that the combination of some fats with carbohydrates is not that clever. There is something similar in Germany called "Trenn-Kost"... kind of diet which allows you to eat either fish/meat and fat and vegetable/fruit or carbohydrats such like potatoes/pasta/rice.

Glyx has something to do with the common insulin production of the human body. too much carbs means more insuline. And insuline guards the fat-cells of your body, does not let any fat out and changes the carbs to fat very fast. And sugar increases the insuline production of your body, carbs do and so on.

So, low carb is kind of clever... but eating should be allowed cos otherwise your body would draw back from burning anything cos of "thinking" of a famine and guarding and protecting the fat cells for even more worse time of hunger.

Glyx is about fat burner and movement on a trampoline (mini-trampoline) cos this is easier done in your flat in front of telly etc. and costs your even more calories in 10 mins than a 30 min jogging round the next park. All this jumping should release some "happiness" hormons too... so they say starting the day with jumping is the best way.

Okay, I hope this helped a bit, mail me if you have any further questions, i hope it was helpful at least a bit.

bye
:p
