!!Paypal...ARGGGG

I had a feeling this was going to happen.....

I have never signed up for Paypal before..(and won't try again...)..I had this feeling something negative was going to happen....I give them ALL of my information.

The site would not take certain digits it asked for...so Paypal is not allowing me to become a member of their ...whatever......

My credit is GREAT..and now, out there somewhere, my information is now lost in the vast computer universe.......ARG!!.....

Can't I just pay with a check or pay using my credit card directly to this site...

I really want to become a Forum Supporter/Contributing Member.

Please HELP!

Thanks...--anne768

ARG!!!....Paypal...bad paypal

I am probably posting this in the wrong forum....but I need help....

Paypal is not allowing me to become a member....Due to "digits" they need...i had a bad feeling about this yesterday when I read that I would have to go through them to become a contributing member..I very much want to join in and pay my dues....

Is there any other way to get payment through besides Paypal??

Thank you..I am just really frustrated right now...

First, your information is not lost in the vast univers. PayPal has an extensive document on their privacy policy: http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...privacy-outside

You can check their affiliantion with the Trust Ooganization: https://www.truste.org/validate/4023

And their current status with the Better Business Bureaus: http://www.bbbonline.org/cks.asp?id=20111061155818568

PayPal have received a lot of bad rap, generally due to their hard line with eBay scammers and the like, wich is the main reason we trust them.

If you have concerns with any entries you have made, please contact them directly to resolve any problems or questions you may have.

Second, we are not a corporation, this is a personal website, despite our size. For us to accept and process credit card info from members, it would cost more in a month, than the total contributions in a year. Check processing will reduce the amount significantly with currency conversions, consuming significant time for processing, leg work, and waiting for clearances, and cannot be automated.

So, it's the only affordable solution we have right now. For members who do not wish to use them, that's fine, there's no obligation to use PayPal or to be a contributing member, and we thank you for the mere thought of contributing. However, we would appreciate it if members do not complain about them, unless they have legitimate information regarding any privacy breaches or any other accusations. Many of our members have used them for years before this forum used them with no problems, including myself.

I use paypal extensively. I am embarrassingly addicted to ebay. Call them up on the phone and they will help you work it out and walk you through it. You can find their number on their website under the contact info. I PROMISE once you get signed up you will find that it is such a fun and easy way to pay for things.

I was a bit scared at first too of paypal but now it makes my life much easier.. Maybe that's a bad thing, lol. I am an internet shopper.

Paypal rawks! As far as the digits?, are you talking bout the 2 blank boxes that they ask you to put in a certain number into? If so, they will be making 2 deposits into your account, this is to verify if your account is real and you are the account owner. You just check out your bank history after a couple of days after applying for your paypal account and you should see that they deposited 2 seperate amounts into your account. You will then put them 2 amounts in those 2 boxes in your paypal to be verified and then your set....and if this is not what you were refering to "DIGITS" them I'm just babbling away....Have a great day, Manny

Thank you for ALL your responses...I did contact them on the phone this afternoon...and their Customer Service was EXCELLENT!

She said I was already signed up....(I do not know why I got an email from them saying they were unable to accept my information.)

I am very weary about giving information out over the internet...especially when I had never used a payment web-site......I am glad PayPal has strict guidelines...In NO WAY did I mean any disrespect for the company I was merely frustrated.

I feel much better since I spoke with the girl at PayPal, she was extremely nice and helpful!..

Thanks again for your responses and I appreciate your kind words.

I :rheart: PayPal!

It made so many things eaiser (EBAY! LOL!) when I lived in the U.S.! Here I only use it to pay for things I buy in the U.S. but I LOVE IT!
