Sugar Free ND Creamer?
 
Hey, Beachers.

So in my neverending quest to find "the" plan (don't ask, my history of this is embarrassing), I am considering SB.

I did SB a long time ago, lost about 8 pounds off of a top weight of (I think) 170-ish in the first two weeks, then fell off the wagon when I tried to include wheat and never came back to it, for whatever reason.

I have a lot of trouble with dairy now. I don't know if I can even do yogurt any more. I am growing more intolerant of dairy by the year. I believe I heard somewhere that yogurt has less lactase or something along those lines because the bacteria eat it? God that must sound stupid and I'll bet I'm relaying it very inaccurately.

But anyway, technically, in P1 there is no dairy at B, L, D with the yogurts being the exception, IIRC. I am going to drag out my book but here's something I really don't remember reading in the book at the time: can I use a non-dairy SF creamer in my coffee on SB, if I have it with meals? The creamer I have is International Delights I.D.s, French Vanilla, 20 calories, 1g carbs.

Hey glendora. I been following the forum for a little while now and finally decided to make an account, haha. But being that I stumbled on your post, I wanted to mention what I use because it took me forever to find something I actually ENJOYED rather than using mock sugars and things which taste disgusting in comparision to REAL sugar. Anyways, what I wanted to say is that I use sugar free flavoring syrups for many things and mainly in my coffee. They have sugar versions and sugar-free (but the sugar-free is what I use, and trust me they are just as GREAT. You get the full flavor, it's just not as sweet as the others, if that makes sense). The brand I'm most familiar with and use regularly is Torani.

I don't know if we can link here, but this is the syrups I use. The only ones I can ever find in store tough are Raspberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Caramel, and Hazelnut.

Hi Glendora.
The entire time I was losing weight I used a sf French vanilla non dairy creamer with no problems. When trying to make this a way of life you have to find what works for you. As you work your plan you learn to tweak it here and there in ways to make it doable for the long haul. Different things work for different people...at different times. So, give it a go and enjoy.

If it is lactose you're intolerant of, then your issue is easily solved. If it is casein or whey, you're not so lucky. There's a truly non-dairy creamer recipe in the paleo forum. I thought it tasted pretty decent!

What I think is the problem with the American diet is not just too much sugar, but also too processed. A quick glance did not disclose ingredients. For a similar product see list. I don't know what in that is good or bad, but I feel we should try, as much as possible, focus on minimally processed foods.

Non-Dairy Product Ingredients: Water, Palm Oil, Corn Syrup**, Contains 2% Or Less Of Each Of The Following Ingredients: Maltodextrin, Sodium Caseinate* (A Milk Derivative), Dipotassium Phosphate, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Mono And Diglycerides, Polysorbate 60, Carrageenan, Sucralose, Cellulose Gel, Cellulose Gum, Acesulfame Potassium, Natural And Artificial Flavors. *Sodium Caseinate Is Not A Source Of Lactose. **Adds A Trivial Amount Of Sugar.

Have you tried Heavy Whipping Cream? The lactose is not in the cream.

I used to have lactose intolerance (it subsided when I cut out the wheat). When I had the L.I. I could still eat hard cheese and HWC.

"So Delicious" makes a "Yogurt" without dairy or sugar - my wife lives it. I'm not a yogurt person so I can't say.

I agree with you 100%! This stuff is horrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Personally, I use H&H. :)

I avoid anything with corn syrup. Why? 90% of the corn grown in the USA is a Genetically Modified Crop. Not only is an insecticide spliced into the gene, it has also been modified to withstand huge amounts of Round-up - which becomes part of the corn (you can't wash it off).

Over 60 countries have banned it because it can cause over 20 diseases including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and a number of cancers, including Pancreatic (which is a death sentence for most).

I figure, if Canada, Europe, Russia, Australia and others ban it due to the health risk, why should I take the chance.
