Kale-bacon-pork belly-garlic, cooked in bacon fat
Bountiful, healthy breakfast.. should sustain you until dinner! ________________________________________________________________ while bacon is semi frozen, slice the whole pile at once into one inch pieces. cook until done. take a slab of pork belly, slice into 1 inch pieces, season and bake at 400 degrees until nice and brown.. 30-40 minutes, depending on your oven. cut stem out of kale, chop up and parboil for 5-6 minutes. _______________________________________________________________ put most of the cooked bacon in a container and put into fridge. drain bacon grease into a container and put away. put pork belly in a bag and into the fridge.. ______________________________________________________________ now you have lots of pre-made food for future dishes. _____________________________________________________________ Preparation for kale dish. 1/2 cup of chopped cooked bacon 5-6 ounces of cooked pork belly sliced into little bite size piece 4-5 cloves of raw garlic large dollop of bacon fat 1 large bunch of kale, stem removed, chopped boiled 4-5 minutes, drained, squeezed dry. in a large skillet, add bacon fat, chopped garlic, chopped cooked bacon & pork belly.. Optional, use one or the other or both! heat fat, cook garlic, pork belly and bacon.. get nice and hot. add chopped kale and toss, toss, toss... this dish should take about 5 minutes. no more. plate it, eat it. :yum: |
