Thank you so much for this great source of recipe knowledge in one spot. I found this once and didn't bookmark it and I couldn't find it. I just want to bump this up to the top for anyone else who is trying to come up with their Holiday menu. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet but there are a few that I have written down and can't wait to try. It usually takes me about 2 months to come up with the menu :) and I am already behind.

Ohhh I could do tins of xmas cookies and such this year for gists. I'll just have to make sure that the recipes aren't obviously LC and too dry though.

We did the pumpkin bake, an LC cranberry sauce, LC stuffing, and LC apple and cherry pies last year for thanksgiving. I think the best thing about thanksgiving and xmas in the US is the main feature it typically turkey. Not only is it LC, but provedes a ton of LC left overs :)

Just bumping up this thread for those who need some Thanksgiving inspiration. :)

A good time of year to remind all of this treasure trove...

Don'tcha think? This is linked in this Kitchen Talk subforum's FAQ, right at the top, but a lot of folks just don't think to look there...consider this a "bump".

;)
Happy Holidays! and if you have anything new to add that's not already posted here somewhere, well, I sure would look forward to seeing it.
;)

What? No new spiffy recipes or links to add? New versions of stuffing, or cranberry desserts or squash casseroles? Sigh.

Low Carb Stuffing Bread

Here's one from Tortoise (Laura) that's very interesting. It's a bread especially made for stuffing/dressing or can be used as a casserole topping.

Here's wishing all you American forum members a lovely Thanksgiving (and not coincidentally bumping this thread for all those folks who are a little bent out of shape and asking for Holiday Recipes and somehow not noticing the wealth we have under discussion, right here and now :D )

Have a fabulous day, and enjoy.

:) :) :)

"Thanksgiving Sides" linked in one of the posts above, titled Holiday Recipes, not too far away, which also contains ALL KINDS of holiday recipe links kindly set up by Karen, just might contain a version or two of Green Bean Casserole...

Mmm, mmm, good!

It always amazes me that these excellent threads aren't either stickied somewhere, or at least brought up again by all and sundry. Weird, but hardly anyone ever seems to assume that there would be a lot of requests for holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Ethnic of All Sorts like my own Dutch holiday traditions) every single year in such a busy forum...

All it takes is the very occasional post in here to keep it floating where visible...or maybe this is a good time to consider making it a stickie? At last?

Enjoy, y'all.

A reminder, there's ALL kinds of recipes in this thread (and it's linked in the FAQ right at the top of this forum, for all to see and to make things easier...yes, many people have asked some of these very popular questions before... ;));

There's also this recent thread (and many of the same dishes are served at Christmas):
Thanksgiving Dishes for us Atkinites!
and this one:
Thanksgiving Recipe Swap

Enjoy. Bet there's all kinds of stuff y'all want to know in there somewhere.

It's that time of year again, so I'm 'floating' this thread to the top for y'all -- it's actually easily found at any time of year, just have a boo in the FAQ sticky thread right here at the very top of this Kitchen Talk subforum.

Easy peasy LC stuffings and dressings abound, most of all.

just bumping-I will need the inspiration!

Robin120 Wed, Sep-29-10 14:24

love this thread!

Can I add to it...?

Pumpkin Nog
1 can pumpkin
4 c unsweetened almond milk
a little vanilla extract, and a little rum extract
splenda and cinnamon to taste
1 c eggbeaters (or 4 eggs if you aren;t scared of raw eggs)
1/2c HWC

blend and enjoy! (it's even better spiked)
