another newbie

hi - i have started on Atkins, knowing that as i increased my carbs on a weekly basis, i wanted to transition to the Schwarzbein Principle. So, i'm just about ready to make the move over. I thought that starting Atkins might be a good way to cold turkey the carbs. i was a pretty bad carb-a-holic. sugar really was a big problem. i feel so balanced that i am not missing any of the old foods.

right now i am eating about 40 grams carbs daily and sunday go up to 45. i know dr. s recommends starting a little higher than that.

has anyone here ever had diagnostics done by her clinic? my last endocrinologist charged me 445.00 for my visit and blood work--so i was thinking dr s. is quite reasonable.

Welcome!

Hi Ally and welcome!
I'm a newbie too but have been doing TSP for about 6 weeks now and lost 5 lbs. I don't know much about Atkins but do you count the carbs in veggies? With TSP, I don't think you have to.

I'll have to check your journal out to see what you're eating!

Regarding your question about the diagnostics from her clinic, I know TSPII talks about sending your lab work to them to see if you're adrenal sensitive, or whatever, and from there you know which of her programs to follow. I'm still reading TSPI so haven't got that far yet.

I think she also talks about it on her website. Welcome again! Rosemary
