Four Year Anniversary

Today marks four years of maintenance. :cheer: FOUR years!!!

Although I am not at the exact weight I was back in March 2012, I am within a range that is acceptable. Of course I want to take off those 10 lbs before they turn into 15, 20 or 25.

After 4 years, do I still experience times of struggles and challenges? Yes, I do. After 4 years, do I have those what-the-heck-was-I-thinking-moments? Yes, I do. After 4 years, do I acknowledge periods of carb-creep? Yes, I do.

Throughout the last 4 years I have made many great lifestyle changes along with so many good/right choices. While some days are easier than others. I continue to stay focused and determined. The investment here is ME!!! And I will continue my quest to be a healthy version of myself.

So you see, where that magic number may not be EXACTLY where you were or want to be, we must acknowledge where we are and most importantly, where we are going!

Today I celebrate my accomplishments not that three digit number!!

Cheers and...........

KEEP SWIMMING!!!!

WTG Chris! Thanks for posting and sharing a brief message about what your maintenance has been like. I am very interested in the subject at this point in my journey and every tidbit of information helps. You are a hero of mine and I'm trying to walk in your footsteps. I look forward to seeing your 5th year of maintenance post. I hope to have joined you in maintenance by then. Keep rockin' your WOE.

Awwwe!!! Thanks my Friend!! I don't know about being a hero but if my story helps in any way then I am very pleased to share.

When I was losing my weight (took almost 2 yrs) I surrounded myself with the energy of the successful losers and maintainers, they are the ones to watch and learn from. Read their success stories and start thinking like a success story. If you like, check out my success story as well as my posts for 1, 2 and 3 years of maintenance.

YOU'VE GOT THIS!!!! :agree:

Well done Chris D! Awesome achievement.
Helpful to understand that we need to be constantly vigilant and sometimes it won't be easy. If we want it enough we just have to keep at!
Keep up the good work!

Thanks very much! And I totally agree, we are a work in progress!

Congrats! That is a spectacular achievement! I thank you for your honesty (won't be easy but it can be done) and for the inspiration. I am 5 pounds from goal now and looking to follow the example of those that are not only doing it, but doing it well. You have definitely done well!

Enaid Thu, Mar-17-16 13:46

What an inspiration you are! Thanks for sharing that you aren't always perfect and sometimes slip up. I think a lot of people (definitely me) need to hear that along our journey. I find the losing weight part is the easiest mostly due to the reward of seeing things go down (weight, clothes size, blood sugar and pressure, triglicerides) and the encouragment from those around you as you get smaller. But the maintenance is the hardest part. Suddenly people who did not know you when you were heavier tell you "oh your so thin a cookie won;t hurt". That was when I had lost 67 pounds on LC and now have put it back on. So messages like yours are so appreciated! Thank you and continued success!!!

Congratulations! I too appreciate you mentioning that maintaining is a dynamic balance = that it requires continuing vigilance to maintain. I have no doubt we will be celebrating with you again this time next year.
