For the long haul

I have been doing this for 3 months now and I know I'm going to make it through to the lifestyle change. It's not easy but it's not impossible. The goingfor60 name is the amount of pounds I want to ultimately lose.

I live in a home where the main cook is a professional Chef, I grew up and lived in a world where cooking and catering is a way of life. So saying no to all of the things I know are wrong is a constant battle. I am always willing to support and hope to be supported

Good luck and stick with it.
Shannon :)

Wecome to the forum Shannon!

I've been a professional chef for 24 years, an overweight human for a cumulative total of about 18, and a low-carber for 2. One of the greatest things about this way of life is that I am still able eat all sorts of fabulous foods. I can be fancy or simple and there are no flavours that I miss. I can still go to restaurants and really enjoy myself.

You're right. There are times when it's not easy, but if you keep coming back, you get better at sticking through the tough times. It will soon become second nature to you! :D

You may want to start a journal in our Journal section and have a look at everyone else's while you're at it.

Keep posting. It works!

Thanks so much Karen

I appreciate your kind and useful words. I will continue; what's the battle for, if its not worth winning. (I forgot who's quote that is, but I believe in it):)

Excellent words Shannon.

One of my faves is saying to myself, is this the hill you want to die on?

Kind of puts everything in perspective!

Oh, dear, MUCH too melodramatic for sensible moi! I prefer:
Is this the hill you want to DIET on?

Much better!

Touche Rachel -

To err is human, to eat cake is divine.

What's life without a series of drama?

Shannon:)

Um, Rachel, aren't there some low carb sonnets you should be writing? ;)
