pedometer suggestions.....

I've changed positions at my job so that now instead of standing most of the time I'm walking (yay!) I'd like to get a pedometer to track my steps-any suggestions?

I used an Omron for a very long time. $20, very accurate. I think I bought mine at Walgreens, so they're readily available.

I just started using a pedometer myself...I bought mine at our local Sport 'N Cycle, it's a Sportline....$25...not too sure of it's accuracy but at least wearing it makes me more apt to get up and walking...Being 71 and on Social Security, gym membership is no longer an option...but have discovered that just walking up and down the steps leading to our deck is enough to get the old heart pumping..and it's FREE....Someone told me once something about ten thousand steps being their goal..anyone know where that bit of information started?
Here's to better health for us all.....Lynn

I love the Omron HJ-112 or HJ-113 Pocket Pedometers. I've used them daily for about a decade. They can just go in your pocket and work in any orientation. They come with clips for clothes, but clipping to pants or pocket isn't necessary.

Thanks for the 10.000 step site...it was interesting...so far the highest I've managed to get the podometer up to is 5,300 and that was a day my daughter and I did the month's grocery shopping...I was one tired pup by the time we got home and got all of the groceries put away...but seeing that high of a number made me feel a tad less weary...
