Atkins diet may cause heart failure, major new protein study finds

Eggs don't cause heart disease and fish are a superfood again too! Must be those Omega-3s.

This is on the front page of Drudge today:

Here's the actual study for those who prefer less sensationalism and more scientific references ;).. http://circheartfailure.ahajournals...nt/11/6/e004531

Conclusions: In middle-aged men, higher protein intake was marginally associated with increased risk of HF

Doreen, thanks for the link. :)

Here is a link to the table of how food intake was tracked:

Ima say it's genuine unadulterated 100% pure BS. This:

Methods

The data, analytic methods, and study materials will not be made available to other researchers for purposes of reproducing the results or replicating the procedure.

A fundamental principle of science is replication, of both method and results. Here, it's intentionally absent, therefore it's not science.

From some 'experts' that claimed margarine was heart healthy

There is only one question I love to ask and I can not find the answer.

High protein and High Carb diet?

or High protein Low Carb diet?

or High protein No Carb diet?

This OLD study ignored the most important factor sugar / Carb which we now know has damaging effect on health.

As we now all know Lipogenesis requires Carb and not protein nor fat.

It's like the researchers had never even heard of confounding variables.
