PCOSer looking for boost

Hi
It has been a long time since I last logged on to this site and in the meantime I have had 2 children and put on a ton of weight!
I need to get moving and lose and am looking for some ideas of where to start again. I followed the Schwarzbein principle in the past but is there any diet plan you guys would really recommend now?

I have PCOS but since my pregnancies I have not got back my bad symptoms such as acne and I do have a 34/35 day cycle. But I am approx 187lbs now.

please can someone advise me on the best plan to take up?
thanks a lot
C

Clodagh...I too have PCOS and my health care provider suggested Atkins to me. I did lose 60 pounds on Atkins once many years ago and have just recently started again...about a week ago!
I haven't really tried any of the other LC plans but there is tons of information on this forum regarding lots of different ones.

Good luck to you and congrats on those babies!

Personally I do Atkins, but YOU need to pick a plan that you can live with. I would suggest visiting your local library and checking out several lc books - Protein Power, South Beach, Carbohydrate Addicts just to name a few. Then find the basic meal plan section and pick a plan that suits your tastes. There are several members here who do great on all the above mentioned plans.

This thread compares plans and may give you a better idea of what you'll want to look at.
Good luck! Once you pick a plan you can always go to the book store or used book store and get your own copy for reference.

Clodagh,

Did you find a plan that you can live with? Hoping you are still around.

Here's to the journey,
Debi
