If you guys haven't done so already, I suggest that you read Anthony Colpo's The Great Cholesterol Con, which covers all the topics above in detail.

I haven't read that book, but have long believed the cholesterol scare was hooey.

I posted elsewhere about the current commercial with Dr. Jarvik (inventor of the artificial heart) and his support of statins. He's got such a cute little elf face, and with his reputation, a lot of people will fall for the lies he tells. Too bad. Of course, it might just keep up the demand for his artificial heart!

Hi Muata, Actually there are a number of similar things on the web. One is by a Doctor in England that used the same title for his book. ReginaW has talked about them in her blog .

BUT, glad you posted that since other people may not know about his book. We need web links to this stuff. Can you help by posting some?

I really like Malcolm Kendrick's writings. I haven't read his book yet but I imagine it is excellent, based on his other writings.

Colpo's book is really good, too, though an index would have been nice. It's too bad that Anthony is such a raging *******.

LOL! Hey, don't talk about my trainer and buddy like that ;) You know what's funny? Most of what I've learned about losing weight, I've gotten from two authors that I know a lot of people love to hate: Gregory Ellis and Anthony Colpo. I know that their in your face, shooting straight from the hip style turns people off. Well, I'll say this much. I'd rather learn from a guy that I call an arrogant a$$, which I've said of Ellis on more than one occassion, than someone who's going to coddle me and teach me how to accept that I might never be the size I want. Anyway, I really encourage everyone to read their books and look past whatever quirks they may have that turns you off because the information is spot on. :thup:
