'athletes' and low carb fat loss

Hello,

I have been impressed with the results of the low carb diet with people needing to lose a lot of weight.. My question is, I am fairly athletic, and looking to lose the last 10 or so pounds in order to get my bodyfat down into the low/single digits.. has anyone seen a lot of success in this area?

My exercise is mainly centered around cardio, supplemented with weights. I was wondering if there are any supplements / foods that really help trigger fat loss on the low carb plan. I am essentially using the atkins induction plan since that's the only one i've really read about.

anyway, anyone with advice, I appreciate it

My husband ate low carb last summer (he doesn't always) and did a combination of rock climbing (not easy stuff, he is good), hiking and a little bit of weights. His body fat dropped significantly - we didn't measure, but jusding from the looks he went from about 12 or 13% to about 8.

Check out the CKD forum... you might want to incorperate HIIT into your cardio as well.

I'd recommend tracking calories on fitday...and then after gaining come CKD and TKD knowledge experiement with carb/protein/fat ratios. It seems calories become more and more important as you get to a lower bodyfat.

note: a lot of people do well lifting weights with higher carb, I personally do well on very low carb (induction) type eating....with restricted calories.
