I have the urban rebounder (folding model) and really like it. The urban rebounding website has lots of information about their products. I got it on a special they were running and it came with several DVDs. I'm not wild about the urban rebounding workouts, though they're definitely tough.
I have the G-force DVD mentioned earlier, but haven't tried it, yet. I may pull it out and do it in a few minutes. Another website with lots of information and pretty much every rebounding video that exists is: http://www.bouncewell.com/ I think I'd rebound more if I had a room dedicated to workout equipment. I don't like leaving it out in my living room, and it's a hassle to lug out of my closet. |
I keep it all shoved to the side in my living room and pull it out each day. Not the most attractive design scheme, but it works for me.
As for the videos, I didn't much like the Urban Rebounding ones. I just alternate jogging and jumping on it while I watch TV. |
As an addendum to all this, I slacked off on the rebounder recently and started doing other exercise instead. And weight loss stalled almost immediately, only to resume two days after I started rebounding again. Coincidence, maybe, but I'm not going to test it by stopping again anytime soon.

I wouldn't necessarily say coincidence, but it makes since to me that you would see some weight loss on it since your entire body is working while bouncing around. |
I love the rebounder.........it is not supposed to be a high bounce like on a trampoline.....totally different animal...it is the gentle, repetitive bounce that works the lymphatic system, cardio,etc...and is very easy on the joints..a video would be good to show you the correct technique.,how you hold your body, etc...
A quote from weight loss resourses It’s fun, it’s easy, and it’s safe for almost anybody of any age… It’s quoted by NASA as “the most efficient and effective exercise yet devised by man”, and you can do it at home whilst watching TV! What is it? Rebounding! What Is Rebounding? Put simply – bouncing on a mini trampoline. Unlike regular trampolining, the aim isn’t to bounce high or perform gymnastic tricks, but to perform a series of small, controlled movements. "Benefits of Rebounding A zero-impact exercise, rebounding provides many benefits for you and your body:

I love exercising on my rebounder. I have had it for years and since I hate exercise, it's usually the only thing I'll do regularly. Right now my rebounder is down in the basement--this thread has reminded me that I should bring it upstairs and start exercising these last 14 pounds away.
There is a book called: The Miracles of Rebound Exercise that's a great read. It's written by Albert E. Carter. You might check your library for it. I also have an exercise video that I'd ordered online. I don't remember where though. Even the beginning video is quite a work-out--I never could get through the whole thing. |
On days I'm just NOT in the mood for cardio, I can always talk myself into rebounding. It really is fun...... as far as cardio work-outs go. :)

What kinds of things do you do on the rebounder?
(Like movements, etc... Mostly just jumping? Or do you use your arms, etc, too?) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I just got a mini-trampoline and used it today for the first time... but all I could think of to do was "jog". :p (How creative am I, right?) |
Jumping jacks, hop-scotch, try jumping and then abruptly stopping the motion, do a football 'hustle'......
|
Wow, interesting.
I bought one of those mini-trampolines at a yard sale recently. It's not large enough to do jumping jacks on, however. Someone asked but no one answered...why not jog on it??? |
No reason not to. Jogging is great on it.
|
I did some searches online for videos to go with it, and WOW are they expensive...
From the clips I saw, no one was jogging. I still would like to know why that person here said never jog on it.... |

I have a workout video from Fitprime (founders of the Firm) called 'G-Force'. It is an interesting combination of weight training, rebounding and yoga.
