not a recipe but I know who to ask for help..

Silvia....the person to ask for this recipe is Carol from Kamloops....she knows everything about great recipes. I am sure she has one up her sleeve for you. If you see one of her postings you could ask her then, or you could PM her.

Hi Silvia,

Here is a site from SOAR which gives a copycat recipe for Ranch dressing. Haven't tried it, but hope that it works for you!

Hi Sylvia,

Here is a recipe...

Ranch Dressing

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried dill weed

1 tablespoon dried chives

1 tablespoon dried parsley

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

1 dash hot pepper sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon ground white pepper

Combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, garlic powder, oregano, dill weed, chives, parsley, Parmesan cheese, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and refrigerate for at least 1/2 an hour. If the dressing is too thick, add a little extra buttermilk to thin.

Karen,

Great on the ranch dressing. How does one go about printing this up without printing everything in this thread if you don't mind me asking? Wendy has forgotten how to write with a pen..lol.

Also, do you have one on Ceasar dressing?

Much appreciated,
Wendy

Wendy, just select and copy with your mouse. Then paste into Wordpad (I keep A blank Wordpad on my desktop for this very thing). You can then format and edit to your heart's content, and voila, ready to print.

Good stuff Doreen.

Now, how do I put it on my desk top? lol. Usually I go to send and it usually says I can send it to my desk top. Hubby has been reformatting his computer and has given me the old 98 windows and hasn't updated mine yet, due to working.

Thanks Wendy

Right click anywhere on the desktop. Highlight New..., then click on Wordpad Document. You can save it, and leave it on your desktop, which is what I do. Name it whatever you like. You could use Notepad too, it's faster, but you can't format (like underline titles, or use bold or italics, - choose whichever one works for you). After I'm finished printing what I want, I just clear the page, and leave it blank for the next thing. Or, you could save the recipe(s), and keep adding to it over the days and weeks .... then print them out when you have a whole bunch.

**IMPORTANT** - The other thing I wanted to mention to everyone is - if you're just copying and printing out a recipe or article for your own personal use fine. If you are printing copyrighted materials make sure to include the copyright info. when you print it out...:)

doreen, i have windows me. i don't have wordpad. would that be the equivalent to word 2000? i'm still learning by the seat of my pants, thanks to the help of people like you.

hi debbie,

I'm learning by the seat of my pants too! Mistakes and goof-ups are the greatest teachers!! ..;)

I must try re-installing Windows me. I tried in the fall, but at the time, my internet provider wasn't compatible. They've upgraded now, so I might try again.

Wordpad and Notepad are the simple word processing utilities that come with Windows. Check the Accessories in your Programs menu. It might be that they're named something else with the me version, but either one of these is fast to load and quick to open, save stuff to and print ... especially if you're just printing simple unformatted text, like a recipe or article.

hope this helps,

Doreen

There is a recipe for Caesar Dressing in our very own recipe section. Just click on Recipes at the top of the page.

The ranch dressing sounds delicious but either I missed the carb count or it wasn't posted. Could you please post it?

Thanks.
