Somercizing

I'm glad to see another "home" for low carbers!

I'm following the Somercize plan. If you're not familiar, it's more of a way of food combining - we don't eat carbs with fats, for example. It's very simple once you get the "rules" down, and there are really only 7.

Anyone else here Somercizing????

Hi Cary,

I'm on the Atkins plan. But, I am familiar with the Somersize diet. My sister lost alot of weight Somersizing for about 6 months. She bought Suzanne's books and food products to help with the plan.

The rules are simple. And, from what I can tell, it does work.

Good luck!

I'll bite...what are the 7 rules?

Thanks! It does work.

I have all her books, but I don't want to (and can't afford) her products. There are SO many "real" recipes out there for most everything, so it's really not necessary.

Thanks for the welcome!

Cary

Hi Maureen!!!!

They're really food combining rules... and they make a tremendous amount of sense once you hear the reasoning.

Eliminate all FUNKY FOODS
Eat FRUIT alone, on an empty stomach
Eat PRO/FATS with VEGGIES
Eat CARBOS with VEGGIES
Keep PRO/FATS separate from CARBOS
Wait three hours between meals if switching from a PRO/FATS meal to a CARBOS meal, or vice versa
DO not skip meals. Eat at least three meals a day, and eat until you feel satisfied and comfortably full.

Funky foods are a really small list of things that are usually high on the GI - like peanut butter. Even though they're often healthy or natural foods, they cause insulin imbalance. Potatoes are on the funky food list.

There are basically only two levels.

Level 1 is strictly with these "rules"

Level 2 you can start combining carbs and fats in small amounts, as desired, and as you can keep your weight loss. And any time you start seeing the scale go up, you simply drop back down to Level 1, which isn't that big of a step, honestly.

There is an "Almost Level 1", which is relatively new. It's like chocolate - some cocoa can be fine, but it's not strict Level 1... it can cause a minor imbalance... so during those times that you HAVE to have something... it's a small 'cheat'.

Hope this helps! Any more questions, I'll be glad to answer!

Cary
