New to this site and also to Keto

Hi There, LittlJimi here,
I've followed the link to this forum from the Diet Doctor Success Stories.
I'm currently at 310 lbs and I don't think I've been more unhappy with myself in all my 50 years.
I've been a Trucker for almost 12 years and since moving to Canada from Scotland 5 years ago, I have spent most of it on the road and away from my family.
I eat all the wrong things and I just recently admitted/realised that Food has been my happy place, where I go to to console myself when I'm lonely and missing my family.
Enough is Enough and I'm changing all that today.
LCHF is how I aim to change my life and I've been doing some research over the past few months and I now feel ready to make the change.
This is my beginning

There is a lot of info in this site and a lot of friendly people to help!

Do you take an ice chest with you?

Welcome, Jimi. :) It's nice to have you here.

Many of us have left the sweets and the starches behind, for a better way of life. I wish you success and joy in living a low carb life.

Welcome Jimi. Great support and info on this forum. I hope your first day was a success. One day at a time and before you know it, it will be your way of life.

Thanks for the welcome and words of support.
I guess I just need to get more organised about what I take with me while I'm on the road, I think this will be the key to my success,

Welcome to the forum Jimi.

There are a handful of us here with success stories on Diet Doctor. I'm one of them, but Ken's is probably the best known. Maybe he'll stop by at some point and give you a wave.

I can imagine the challenges that being on the road can bring with regard to food. My father drove trucks on and off for maybe 40 years and I remember riding with him now and then while growing up. As I recall, it's not always possible to find something suitable wherever you stop, but I think you've got the right idea: as long as you have the chance to prepare something (or things?) beforehand to take with you, I reckon you can do this.

Here's another idea, since you're already doing a bit of research on the subject but the driving prevents you from reading: could you maybe take some podcasts to listen to while you're on the road? Or do you prefer to stay in work mode while at work, so to speak? I'm a bit like that, to be fair.

Hope to see you around!
