Rogers Chocolates - No Sugar Added

If you are familiar with Rogers Chocolates you may be very excited about this! My landlady works in their warehouse here in Victoria, and brought this information (plus a wee box of chocolates) home for me today.

"Ingredients: Chocolate flavoured coating (maltitol, cocoa butter, chocolate liquor, sodium cassinate, milk fat, soya lecithin, vanillin, salt), maltitol, calcium casseinate, almonds, hydrogenated vegetable oil, coconut, sorbitol, butter, natural and artificial flavours, salt, soya lecithin, dibasic sodium phosphate. May contain traces of nuts and peanuts."

If any of these things make you stall, then forget I said anything, but if they don't... party on!!!

Caveat Emptor

Maltitol and Sorbitol: Sugar Alcohols (heck, never mind the stalling, think about cravings, cramps and diarrhea... ouch).

Hydrogenated anything: Trans Fats! Double Ick! Bad for You! I'm surprised, I'd'a thought Rogers would go for the high quality genuine pure cocoa butter...

Is this future?

And don't forget the soya lecithin!
If that's the future of the low-carb food industry, it'll end up being just as decried as low-fat. And for good reason. :(
