Energy to Exercise during TOM

When it's that TOM for me, I get SO drained and don't want to exercise at all! After I do it though, I feel good.

Any suggestions on maintaining your exercise routine during that TOM, or, do you ladies take a break during that time?

Whenever I'm feeling drained and unmotivated, I use 5 hour energy, no matter what time of the month it is! I don't use it daily, or even weekly, but there have been a few occasions I've stayed up too late for whatever reason. 5 Hour gets me peppy enough to feel like I can do it, even if I still don't want to.

You may need to supplement with magnesium to feel more energetic

Hi Firstlady1,

One of the things that happens before and during TOM is that a lot of magnesium is used up.

I used to go to an exercise class regularly (and am soon going to return now that I have almost recovered from adrenal fatigue) and I noticed how much more tired I was during or directly before that time of the month. I also noticed that I would get cramps much more easily, too.

I would guess that you are generally low in magnesium. This mineral is needed for energy as magnesium is needed for ATP, the fuel that is used by our bodies on a cellular level. Low magnesium therefore equals low energy.

Do you take any magnesium supplements at all?

If you are interested in learning more, reply in this thread and I'll get back to you.

This thread is about the positive side-effects that some of our members have had from taking magnesium. You might find it interesting:

It's called "Took magnesium, feel all sparkly". I just love that title!!!

All the best,

If I feel tired, I just do what seems right for that day.

I take supplements, keep a clean food plan, and some times are for being more quiet and resting, other times for more exertion.

I wish you much joy in your own rhythms. :)
