Coming back to LC...
Hi all
I'm a 37 year old guy who has always struggled with my weight. A couple of years ago I followed a strict Ketogenic diet and lost about 60lbs. I honestly thought my days of having food control me were over. But gradually i began to slip up, and eventually it became a vicious cycle of "cheating" then spending a few days getting back into Ketosis only to give in again. I ended up getting so frustrated that I just gave in and now 2 years later, I'm as fat as I ever was and i know my eating is getting out of control again. I know that Keto is too restrictive to be a permanent solution for me, but it has shown me exactly how carbs and sugar contribute to my weight problem. So I'm going to try a different approach now, I am going to reduce carbs to a level where I know I will be able to maintain this way of eating for life, while still feeling the benefits of a Low Carb lifestyle. I know the weight may not come off as quickly but i know from past experience (with Keto and various other "diets") that I need to do something that i can sustain for life. So I'm ready to take the first steps..... :) |
A willingness to take those first steps is all it takes for today! Welcome, you will do well.

Best wishes. P. S. As for that backslidin' thing? Anybody who says they never did is, um, not being entirely truthful. You've got company there, too. |
