Crackslaw

Has anyone here ever made crackslaw? I've only just discovered it as a thing and thought it looks just like a stir-fry without the rice or noodles. It apparently is very tasty.

Anyone got any comments or good recipes to try out?

cheers

When you go the kitchen section of this web site, you'll find many recipes for crackslaw.

I've done it a few ways depending on what I was in the mood for. Asian, Szechuan, Italian, Indian....just changed up the spices.

Thanks will probably try a beef mince one this weekend. Does it freeze ok as I'll probably want to make a batch and then take portions of it to work for lunch.

Do you think it is a bit like stir-fry without the rice/noodles in terms of texture?

If you read Judy's link, you'll see that yes, it freeezes well. ;)

I didn't get round to making any at the weekend, but was wondering since I don't recall ever seeing coleslaw mix in the shops could I use a crunchy stir fry mix instead?

If you use other veggies, then it won't be crackslaw. ;)
You can buy a head of cabbage and shred it. That's the way I do it. It does not have to be already shred and in a bag.

Great, so I've invented a new dish! ;)
