Is your dairy really organic?
Really good investigative reporting by the WaPo. At any rate, there are some large companies cheating. Good charts!

nancy, this falls under, " I would rather NOT know" lol, not really! I keep working toward a better diet. I would like to think I eat much better than I did some 17 years ago. When I started Atkins, it led me down a new food path: more kinds of fruit and veg, making own yogurt, gardens, own eggs, etc. ( Not in order, lol)
I do think grass fed is right next to" organic" , just my opinion. Thanks for the link!!!! Page NOT FOUND. ???? |
Yeah, I know what you mean. At least Horizon looks to be better than conventional.
I fixed the link! |
Interesting and very revealing. Living in northern Virginia, I'm close to Maryland and think I've seen dairy products by Prigel at Whole Foods locally. I'll check it out, as it's good to know who the straight shooters are in the claimed organic arena.

Interesting. I don't drink milk anymore, but I make kefir. Instructions said to not use ultra-pasteurized milk, which is very common. It's been a while since I looked, but if I remember correctly, there were no organic milks that were not ultrapasteurized.
I usually buy a local dairy milk which works fine making kefir. I can even get it in glass bottles with the cream still on top. I don't know if the cows graze or not, but it's hard to imagine a local dairy not grazing. |

It doesn't stop being milk once it is fermented. :-) |

I don't know what you mean. Yogurt is made from milk, but once it's yogurt it's yogurt, not milk. The fermenting changes it from one thing to another thing. Same with kefir. Obviously, it's milk kefir, not water kefir. Would you say that water kefir is still water or is it kefir? |
I’ve gone goat.
Goat cheese and lately, goat yogurt. I know they graze. |
