I think I am a turtle
 

I have been on atkins 3 weeks. I lost 2-3 lbs the first week. Now I've gained those back plus 1. So I am now 1 lb. heavier than I started.
I have not cheated.
I have stayed in ketosis
I have monitored my sugar 2x daily since beginning the diet and have been able to cut out all glucophage.
I did wake up yesterday with a terrible chest cold. And my fingers are so swollen I can't wear my rings. I drink plenty of fluids.
I have been told you should not use a diuretic, but I'm thinking about it.
My chest hurts so bad, every time I cough I feel like I swallowed a cactus and my head feels like it's going to blow off. My nose is running.
I will not take anything like cough syrup, because of the carbs, I have serious liver disease so I don't use any alcohol, but I did break and take an advil cold and sinus tablet, and I've been worried about the carbs in it.
So here I am a turtle.
My partner also on the diet has now lost 8 lbs.

Sorry !! I don't think you're a real turtle. So I will not welcome you to the turtle club yet !! Under post #1 in THIS THREAD you'll find the answers to some of your questions. And you have a cold, you're ill ! Your poor body has enough to fight with at the mo.
