hi guys,

i have been checking out this forum a lot, i haven't actually started atkins yet, next week i start induction. i have been eating up all the carbs in the house to get them out of the way and have put on another couple of kgs!! so now i am just gonna donate them to someone.

some background, i put on 10-15 kgs in a year after taking the deproprovera injection (contraception). i had candida as a result of hormonal imbalance and got that under control with no yeast/starch eating plan, i am pretty sensitive to sugar. i lost all the weight last year after a v. stressful time and going to the gym 4-5 times a week, but gained it again after dropping to twice a week (and introducing more carbs of course).

really looking forward to feeling better, having more energy and fitting into my clothes! i think this is a great place to get some words of encouragment/wisdom and to keep on track. hope you all have a relaxing easter break.

sam

Hello,

Welcome, and I hope you enjoy induction. I've just finished and I feel great - loads more energy. Which is a good thing because I won't have a relaxing Easter break - oh no not at all - I will be using that energy to dodge incoming chocolate eggs and hot cross buns!! :p

Hi There,

I'm lucky I have a 4 year old and a sugar crazy partner who will eat all the easter eggs.

Good luck with Induction, I too have loads more energy and feel really good.

Bye
Hope you all have a great Easter too :spin:

cheers kiwilass & geraldine, i am not that interested in chocolate, the candida diet really breaks you of that habit, but i still love my bread & pasta (not for long hee hee ;) ) but i can imagine it would be hard for some. like giving up my glasses of wine :(

ok, have a good easter,

sam

hi Sambalam - don't be scared of giving up grain products :) . If your response is like mine you will feel so good (after maybe a few days of withdrawal symptoms) that you won't want to jeopardise it all by eating them again.
If you're that sensitive to sugar then giving up grains will make a difference as starches become sugars once they enter the body.
Good luck & best wishes,
Floribunda
