Hi everyone,
I just joined the site yesterday, and have been stuck at the computer reading, reading, reading ever since....nothing else is getting done...but that is okay, I am learning lots, and loving the support and caring I am finding here.
I have a couple of questions though...and hope someone can help me...
As I am looking at everything, I see that there are green envelopes beside names, and sometimes open envelopes...can anyone explain what that mean? And, if someone sends you a reply, how do you get to that.
I am also looking for the original Atkins book...published 25 or more years ago...actually looking for a recipe that was in it for Salmon patties...I believe it was called Mock Duck...does anyone out there have the original book??
Thanks for you help....I have been on Atkins now for a week, and have lost about 9 pounds so far...and not suffering. I lost about 80 pounds on Atkins about 25 years ago...loved the diet, didn't ever feel deprived, but did miss the starches...am finding the same this time. And to compound the difficulty, in the past 7 years or so, I have been eating little to no meat as I have difficulty digesting it....have reintroduced it and while it is a struggle, I am managing it okay so far.
Thanks for any help you can give me
Dar

Hi there Dar, if you scroll to the bottom of any forum, you'll see the explanation of the green envelopes.
if someone sends you a reply, how do you get to that.
If you go to "profile" at the top right of your screen, you'll be able to see all of your replies since your last visit.

I'm sorry I've never read the original book. Maybe someone else can help with the Mock Duck recipe.

Happy low carbing!

Thank you Rosebud...there are so many things to look at right now being so new...I guess I just missed that. It has taken me quite a while to figure out how to send you a message...lol...I will get this figured out yet.

Hi DarB!

I notice when I look at my copy of Dr. Atkins' Diet Revolution that there was another book published around the same time called Dr. Atkins' Health Revolution. I am wondering if your recipe for mock duck may be in the health revolution book, as I can't find mock duck in the Diet
Revolution book, unless it may be called something else. Sorry for rambling, but it sounds great and I wouldn't mind finding that recipe.

:)

Keep me posted and good luck with this woe........

 Hi Dar

I thought the book I had ('72) was the original book....but no mock duck salmon patties in it!.....I tried this in '73....when everyone thought I was killing myself!... :D Little did they know!........ Good Luck!

Sorry, all I found was a recipe for Salmon burgers.
Though I remember reading a Dock Duck recipe I just don't remember where.
