I was given one of those new small can drinks... ie red bull... Anyway it had zero carbs on the label and listed 0 carbs on the back. I believe after the meager attempts to find info on this drink that is made and marketed by a mlm.... The name of the drink given to me was called XS and if anyone knows anything more than I can get off the can itself please let me know... :)

I know someone mentioned the Diet Red Bull and the Hansens Diet energy drinks, but I don't recall seeing XS mentioned here. Red Bull and Hansens have 3g carb per can, but somehow XS (sweetened with sucralose and ace-K) gets by with zero. Comes in two flavors, "Cranberry Grape" and "Citrus Blast". I found it in a local health food store, but I think it can be ordered online.
Ingredients:
Carbonated Water, L-Taurine, L-Glutamine, Citric Acid, Adaptogen Blend (Elutherococcus Senticosus, Panax Ginseng, Panax Quinquefolium, Schisandra, Astrolagus, and Reishi), Natrual Flavors, Acesulfame Potassium, Caffeine, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sucralose, Niacin, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Pyridamine, HCL, Yellow 5, Cyanocobalamin
Nutrition Data (per can):
Calories: 8
Sodium: 24mg
Potassium: 25mg
Protein: 2g
Vitamin B3: 100%
Vitamin B6: 300%
Vitamin B5: 100%
Vitamin B12: 4900%
(Everything else is zero)

Wow, S_Hysmith, thanks for the specific and detailed post! That's way cool.
I'm guessing -- because I haven't actually looked -- that the other "energy drinks" have carbs because quite often fructose is used in combination or synergy with intense sweeteners such as aspartame or ace-k or sucralose, especially in drinks. Or perhaps glycerol as a demulcent or texturizer ...
Much as maltitol or glycerine is used in combination with intense sweeteners in bars and muffins and such, as both a texturizer and sweetener.
It's not so much Sugarfree (or Diet) as it is Sucrose free (or Dietetic). Clear as mud, I'm sure!

I dont know about the rest of you but before Atkins I used to have the occasional energy drink. Redbull, Rockstar, Hansens MONSTER.. etc.
Ive really missed these energy drinks, to be honest I love the taste of them, kinda like a liquid sweet tart with some kick. The Rockstar drink was a great drink that tastes like Redbull without the caffiene jitters, which I liked better.
Anyways.. I was shopping the other day and found on the shelf Diet Rockstar. I picked it up thinking it would be chalk full of asparatame but to my surprise it wasnt! Yes, it has a boat load of caffiene in it, but the sweeteners are from sucralose! So... this drink is no worse then a cup, or two, of coffee.
Other ingredients are:
-Guarana
-L-Carnatine
-Ginseng
-Ginko
-Milk Thistle
-Taurine
There is 4g of carbs per can, each can is 16oz, 2 servings. 2g protein and 0g sugar!

Did it taste good?
I never tried Rockstar, but I enjoyed Red Bull occasionally (usually with a just a tiny bit of vodka in it :p ) prior to my LC days. I don't know if it gives you wings, but it definately will keep you dancing all night long :D
I've tried some of the other energy drinks and wasn't that impressed. If I happen to see this in the stores I'll give it a try.

EAS and TwinLab makes some energy drinks labeled low carb and sweetened with sucralose. Simular ingredients. They even have a womans version in a light berry flavor. It was very good! :)

I havent tried the SF Red Bull yet...
Thing is.. SF Red Bull is $1.99 and so is the Diet Rockstar.
Except with the Diet Rockstar you get 16oz!
My only gripe with Red Bull is the price you pay for the small can. Thats why when I drank regular energy drinks I explored the rest and found Rockstar and Hansens MONSTER to be a better choice then the Red Bull.

The last time I drank Redbull and Vodka, pre-Atkins, it wasnt a pretty sight.
I ended up falling out of my GFs truck and knocked my head on the ground... and took a shower that I couldnt remember taking.
:daze:
That was the one and only time I drank Redbull and Vodka.. :o

Avengeance.....
How many red bulls and vodka's did you have to give you that effect or do you remember? I'm sure you did remember the feeling the next day. Ha :D Just had to ask!
Thanks for the info. re: Diet Rockstar. I will try this prior to working out. I feel like I need a boost to get me back on the treadmill, since I am out of shape.
By the way, how much caffeine does the stuff contain?

Can you get the XS drink at the grocery store or do you have to go to a health food store?

Kroger does not have Diet Rockstar. Maybe it's at health food stores or GNC?
Anyone know where to buy it :q:

Has anyone heard of or tasted Hansens Diet Red Energy Drink? I have tried it and it taste great. Only prob is its kind of a hard drink to track down in stores. It does not contain aspartame and is sweetened with splenda. It has caffeine and glucose along with other ingredients in the energy blend. Is anyone familiar with this drink, and are we allowed to drink drinks with glucose? It has a total of 3000mg of a combined energy formula and one of the ingredients is glucose.
Also, where can we find Sobe Lean drinks in the Bay Area, CA.

Did you guys read the label on SF Red Bull? It contains aspartame. I thought thats not allowed. I tried the Diet Rock Star and it tasted just AWEFUL like piss water. But thats IMHO. There is an energy drink called Hansens Diet Red. This stuff taste awesome. It contains energy blend of caffeine, glucose, and some other stuff. Total of the energy blend is 3000mg. The label says it has 3 grams of carbs per serving which is one can. Oh, and BTW, it does NOT contain aspartame, and is sweetened with sucralose. Only thing, I'm not sure if we are supposed to have a drink with glucose in it? And it only has 3 grams of carbs so even so, wouldn't it still be allowed as long as we dont go over our carb count for the day?

Has anyone tried this? Hansens Diet Red. It taste just like Red Bull IMO. It has NO ASPARTAME!! The stats are:
Calories= 10
Total Carb=3g
Sugars=3g
It has an energy blend of: 2500mg
L-Carnitine, Glucose, Caffeine, Guarana, Inositol, Glucuronalactone, Maltodextrin.
Ingredients: Carbonated water, Glucose, Taurine, Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, sodium citrate, L-Carnitine, Maltodextrin, Panax ginseng root extract, Grape skin extract (color) ascorbic acid, Sucralose (Splenda), Acesulfame potassium, Caffeine, Niacinamide, Sodium chloride, Guarana seed extract, Inositol, Glucuronalactone, Pyridoxine hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Cyanocofalamin.
Does anyone know if this is acceptable for low carbers? I'm not sure about the "glucose", although it only has 2500mg blend and thats one of the ingredients, so that equals only 2.5 carbs right? Does anyone know if this can cause a stall?
Thank You

Actually, there is no aspartame in it because they are using splenda (sucralose) to handle the bulk of the sweetening. The glucose is sugar, but at 3gr in the whole can...
I like the sugar free Red Bull, which if I recall is about the same nutritional info wise...

The Diet Red Bull has aspartame though. Thought thats not allowed.

What is the specified serving size? If it is for the whole can, you might get away with it, but often sneaky manufacturers make the serving size about ½ glass or less.
Just a thought.

I know that with the sugar free Red Bull, the nutritional info is for the entire can... 10 calories and 3gr of carbs...
amtuamor22,
Aspartame is know to cause some folks weight loss to stall, others are unaffected by it. There also seems to be some concern as to just how safe aspartame is. I stay away from it for the most part myself, but like a SF Red Bull and Vodka occasionally when I go out. We don't have the Hansen's products in my neck of the woods :(

The serving size is for the whole can, which is 8oz I believe. So it list 3 grams of carbs, and 3 grams of sugar, and 10 calories per can.

This is my first post and I am so excited! I drink XS every day now, and I am fairly bursting with energy. And I have 3 kids at home under the age of 5! I don't like carbonated drinks and I can't get enough of the carbonation out of the cran-grape or citrus blast to enjoy it. My husband does, so more power to him. I drink the Energy Tea - Tea Berry Typhoon. It is the only one I have found that is not carbonated. It only has 1 carb, NO SUGAR and 2 grams of protein. They say the protein is from freeform amino acids?!?
You can order it online at www.quixtar.com. I have to to type in 3230656 for the IBO number (that is the only way I know to get it, and it is my sister-in-law's number).
I don't know if it is the B vitamins or what, but we just had a big cold run through our house, and I used to be the one who came down with illnesses the hardest. I did not get sick at all. Does anyone know if the B vitamins keep you healthy? I feel great and I have lost another 5 pounds! I also started taking a tsp of coconut oil a day. Maybe that has helped?

Red Bull is an aquired taste...
Kinda like gatoraid and armpit sweat mixed together.
But, hey if you got to stay awake or need a pick me up, it is great stuff, especially with some vodka!

I drank X/s during my first run on atkins. Its worth it. I lost 65 pounds drinking that stuff with my atkins... It has ingredients that are much more metabolism stimulators then just the silly caffeine and taurine in redbull surgarless. Dont get me wrong, when I cant find X/s I drink the redbull... Gnc makes a low carb one that sells at 7-11's that has more stimulators in it the Redbull, but a little less then X/s... But at least its available.

What flavor is it supposed to be? Tasted like rancid carbonated cough syrup, or maybe like jaegermeister soda (don't remember the one time I had jaeger very well). I was really irked because they're so expensive and I was desparate for caffeine. I do like the XS and the energy drinks from EAS and Twinlab.

I just found a sugar free energy drink made by Sobe. It was fantastic. Tasted like strawberry soda, except with a noticable kick. It was excellent! 2 carbs in the can (according to the label), but it tasted so good that I shared it with my teenage son.

I just stopped drinking my favorite - Rockstar diet, due to losing a bit of enamel on my 2 front teeth. I take great care of my teeth and can't contribute anything else in my diet, except the acid in this drink. Be careful, as you may lose enamel as well. I have read some articles about this contributing to enamel loss. Now I will need expensive bonding or caps, as I like the nice, clean white teeth. Bummer!
I will now be drinking water or iced tea sweetened with Kal Stevia.
