Hello everyone,
Went out for Chinese food today. I got beef & Vegtables no rice, soup or egg roll. Was that bad? Did I go out of the Atkins guide lines?

I think it depends on what was in your beef and veggies. Usually they have a sauce that has sugar in it, also can be thickened with cornstarch. It's hard to say...I stay away from Chinese fast food places because there isn't usually anything I can have that I like. Sorry I'm not more help.

I always tell the chinese restaurant - no sugar, no starch when they prepare my dishes and they listen so I rarely have problems. Almost all "dishes" contain corn starch and/or sugar unless you ordered off their "diet" menu.

It's difficult to say, without knowing what stage of the program you are in. If you are in Induction, you may have ingested sugars or starches that you should be avoiding.

Best to consult your book and the guidelines regarding ingredients. It is very difficult (tho not entirely impossible) to order Chinese when on the Atkins plan--at least in the first stages of Induction or OWL. I believe it even says so in the book...

If you can order meat and veggies with no sauce, you should be OK...
