Is Cadbury Lite ok to eat. :q: I found a 75gram bar the other day and it sure tasted like chocolate. I haven't eaten chocolate, sugar, etc in three months :) and with all the easter stuff around :( this bar looked appealing even though I generally don't eat anything with nutrasweet in it. :( It does also list isomalt and polydextrose as ingredients and those look awfully like some sort of sugar to me.

For a 100gram serving total carbs were listed as 7.1 gram and sugars as 5.5 grams. Looks rather high to me. Does anyone else eat the stuff or can you offer an opinion on it. :q:

It certainly had quite an laxative effect too. Not that I really mind that on Atkins.

Hi there,

I've used cadbury lite a few times. I can only handle about 6 squares otherwise I get a seriously upset tum....quite good really...I don't go and eat too much :o

I think it is ok in moderation but very addictive and could easily turn into a habit! From memory 6 squares works out at about 1.5gr which is o for a quick treat.

Hi Lesley,

You do well with the six squares. Well I scoffed the 75gram block last friday. Then today when I was in town I brought 3 bars  Since then I have eaten all three :o  Maybe once a chocolate addict always one. Amazing as I have had no pull towards chocolate or other sweet stuff for three months until friday (well apart from fruit).

The taste of the chocolate seemed to get worse the more I had this time. I think I have cured my self off the stuff. Anyways will give it a miss in future as I sure cannot have it in moderation! :(

I'm in maintenance, so I can eat a bit more than most. I absolutely love it. I eat about a bar a week. Sometimes two. I haven't been putting on weight with it, but if I was trying to lose weight, I'm sure I couldn't eat it as I couldn't stop at a couple of pieces. It is seriously good stuff. That Darryl Lea rubbish doesn't compare.

I never really craved chocolate before I started low carbing. I think it's because there are so few naughty things I can eat without feeling guilty that I eat so much Cadbury Lite.

I confess I haven't cured myself of the cadbury lite habit that I have acquired over the last few weeks. I ate two bars of it yesterday. It tasted delicious too!! :p

Yes I buy one bar a week. I think the stuff is great! I did go overboard one premenstrual day and ate 3/4 of a bar, with very liquifying results!! So I normally stick with just a row at a time.
