 I know it's hard to say because everyone is different.. But about how long would you think it'd take to lose about 40 pounds? I'm just looking for a rough estimate.. Thanks ya'll!

Hi Wannabeski,

As you said, everyone is different. It took me about a year. I have been on Atkins now for about 2 years. Don't look at it as a diet. Try to get comfortable with it as a way of eating for the rest of your life. Why be in a hurry? However slow you lose - even if you stand still as I am doing now - it is better than putting weight on - which is what most of us have done for most of our lives.

One thing to remember is the 'golden shot' notion. This is that the first time you try this diet you will lose more effectively than if you stop and come back to it (as I have!).

So the most important thing is stick to it - don't cheat.

If you want to speed up the weight loss, take up exercise and drink green tea. They both speed up your metabolism.

Good luck,
Robert

Hi Wannabeski,
I kind of think of it as, How long did it take me to gain it????? Then I equate it with a walk, It isn't so hard to go far, BUT, the distance back seems awfully long! I really know what you are talking about, it seems like I woke up fat & tired, wrong, I had to work at it a good many years to get this big, I just have to realize I have to work even harder to get it off again! Iam in a stall, which I didn't help last night, I went out for dinner, only had lettuce & a dab of cottage cheese from the salad bar, then steak & RIBS-----Betcha' there was sugar in the BBQ sauce----sure tasted good, but I'm sure I will have to pay by a longer stall now. I resisted the potato choice & the wonderful warm, fresh bread, even if I did drool!!! ;)
Really great to be able to come here & vent, whine, or whatever isn't it??? I can't type & eat at the same time! Best of luck in losing---Marla
