Please Help Me!
I've been on the diet for 5 days and haven't lost a pound or an ince! I've never cheated ------except that - Ididn't do my homework. I went back and read Dr. Atkins book (the section on diet pills) and found that you should stop medication 2 weeks prior to the diet - and I didn't do it. So now what do I do? Do I stick to the diet - or wait two weeks ----- please answer ASAP - I'm supposed to go on vacation Sunday.

Hi!

Five days isn't long enough to assess whether or not things are moving along as they should, especially considering you don't have a lot of weight to lose. It usually comes off fairly slowly. This shouldn't be used as a crash diet.

I wouldn't go off any medications without talking to your doctor. You don't *have* to stop taking them - just try to avoid stuff like cough syrup with added sugar. I'd just stay on plan as you are. If you'd like some more constructive feedback, feel free to start a journal and/or post your menu for a few days.

Hope that helps! Enjoy your vacation!

Jayhawker, do you mean specifically diet pills - like over the counter aids for dieting? Or, are these pills something that a doctor has prescribed for you?

If it is over the counter and you can do without them, then by all means you should stop taking them while low-carbing. The plan works miracles all by itself. But, if they are doctor-prescribed, do not stop them without your doctor's permission.
