Hi mate,

They're a bit carby, but not impossible.

Here (http://www.dietclub.com.au/foods/search.php?keywords=red+rooster&showresults=true) is the link the Diet Club's nutritional info on Red Rooster.

Have you noticed they are now advertising low fat rolls?

I rang Red Rooster customer info line when I saw how high they were in carbs and they said that they count a serve of stuffing as part of the total carb grams in the quarter roasted chicken.... so it does say 11g but that includes stuffing...

HI Guys,

What about 'normal' BBQ chickens???. I work in the city and if I don't bring my lunch and forced into the terrifying food halls. I have been having BBQ Chicken (no stuffing) as there is not much else that exists without obvious carbs..... My gut feeling is that its the wrong thing to have

Can someone please either reassure me or turn me away for good :D

Well, I'm confused now. According to "Allan Borushek" the breakdown is as follows for a 1/4 wing section. If anyone knows, pls advise... This is WITHOUT the stuffing:

Cal - 300
Kj - 1255
Fat - 15
Carbs - 1.5
Protein - 36
Sodium - 710

Hope this is right, else I've blown my carb count!!

No thats right, he doesn't count the stuffing but the values on the Red Rooster site does count the stuffing thus the 11g or so on their listing...

As for regular BBQ chicken, I eat lots of it and its fine as long as it isn't glazed

I eat loads of BBQ chicken as well - excuse my thickness, but what do you mean by glazed... it all seems pretty glazed (thats y I have been a bit concerned

Some chicken shops use a sugar mix to make the chicken look shiny (mostly Asian stores will do this), its mixed in with the herb mixture, most though use a dry powder mix they shake onto the meat (Woolworths and Coles use this as does Henny Penny)
