i am taking betalean, a thermogenics supplement.
yday morning i felt a burning sensation somewhere down the throat close to the chest......and once peaked till my heart beat became irregular and had problems breathing.
this morning i took it again, however today's burning sensation was mild.
was it due to the supplement "hanging at my throat area" causing the burning sensation? or due to sth else?

You might want to scale down the dose you're taking or discontinue entirely if this continues. Some people cannot handle thermogenics. Also, if you have any of the preexisting conditions listed on the warning / bottle you should not be taking this product.

hi Fumih,
Not sure which version of Betalean you're taking (there's an ephedra version and ephedra-free). Regardless .. both products contain white willow, which is a salicylate from which aspirin is derived. White willow can cause all the same gastric upset, bleeding and ulcer problems same as aspirin. It can thin the blood and cause bleeding problems, easy bruising and kidney problems. Especially if you use for a prolonged period of time. I remember that you've tried other similar products over the last few months, so maybe they're starting to catch up with you :( . It would be a good idea to stop taking these things.
If you're determined to take a thermogenic product, you might consider taking green tea extract. There's no caffeine in the extract, and there's good evidence that it can actually work, especially if you follow a careful low-carb diet (no cheating!) and follow a moderate exercise program. Read more about it here (http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=410763#post410763).

Doreen
