Wow! Since tobacco/lung cancer studies done in the U.S. used
_Non-Cuban_ tobacco it's reasonable to presume that maybe
Havana leaf isn't carcinogenic!

My understanding of policosanol is that the octocosanol
content is the most important for cholesterol reduction,
and sugar cane wax has a higher proportion of it than
beeswax or rice wax.

The studies that show it's effectiveness were done using the
suger cane wax formulations. Try swansonvitamin.com for
reasonable prices on a suger cane wax policosanol. (I have no
affiliation.)The reason the Pharmanex dosage is 30 mg/day and
the sugar cane wax is 10 mg/day may be due to the difference
in octocosanol content. The price difference is also $40 vs $8
for a month's supply.
