i have a positive immediate skin-test reaction to candida

and a couple of allergists have told me "eat less sugar".

But, i read that lactose and starch are more the
carbohydrates that reach the gut, simple sugars in food are
absorbed before that.

Where would one get scientific info on what *actually* reduces
Candida in the gut?

i don't want to go on a low-carbohydrate diet.

i'm just looking for info on nutrition, not on drugs one can
take.

thanks laura

Scientific and Candida diet are not compatible. You pretty
much have to ask them about the pseudoscience sales pitch.
It's like the calcium fad supplement commercials or the iron
causes all ills you just replace it with Candida.

according to a web page by a doctor who sounds like he might
be on the right track --
http://www.nutramed.com/allergy/candida.htm

Colon candida are fed by *milk sugar* and starches in the
diet which reach the colon undigested, not free sugars in
food which tend to be absorbed before reaching the yeast.
On a food holiday, the food supply to the Candida and all
other colon microorganisms is reduced and the population
decreases. The use of an elemental nutrient formula, such
as Alpha ENF, with high glucose content, is associated with
reduction or disappearance of candida in the colon.

So maybe eliminating starch & milk would help eliminate
candida & test to see if candida is causing problems.

This is a web page that talks about Dr. Crook's research about
candida. His book _The Yeast Connection_ which includes a diet
is what helped me get it under control. Good luck.

So your skin is allergic to candida? I bet your skin is
allergic to stomache acid also.

Don't get allergy shots. They will screw up your immune
system badly. If your skin is allergic to something then rub
it on your skin, but no....that wouldn't open your wallet
wide enough.

Careful of the scams here...keep researching it!

A fine, but unfortunate name. I was searching for something
medical the other day, and a Dr Quack kept coming up :)
